In Another Life
A quick tangent from my usual missives to share a little bit of what I do in my "other life" as a Multimedia Producer. When I'm not in jewelry-land I get to take my video camera, pen, and paper and head out to find stories of people, places, and events that I find interesting and want to share. Most recently, I headed over to the studio of Oregon artist-extraordinaire, Hilary Pfeifer, to learn about how she ended up publishing her first-ever book; an alphabet book of all things!
Washington Craft Show
My bags are nearly packed for an early morning flight to DC for the Washington Craft Show this weekend. I'm looking forward to meeting fellow artists and clients on the "other" coast as I wrap up the 2011 show season. This show will also be my last until early summer since the hubby and I have our first kiddo due in February! So if you're in the area stop by and say hi - see some of the new, big brooches; try on a necklace or two; and find out what 7 months pregnant looks like in colorful felted wool and sterling jewelry.
Happy Holidaytime to all!
Sarah
The amazing Ann Williamson
Ann Williamson makes incredible, one-of-a-kind, gorgeous clothing AND dreams up enough outfits for a grand editorial photo shoot at Portland's Holocene! I was lucky enough to get to join in on the fun and fashion at Ann's recent photo shoot.
Big Thanks!
Great Labor Day weekend at Art in the Pearl! Very cool to see all the volunteers in t-shirts with huge sterling & felted wool brooches on them! Maybe it's time I make something on that size scale...
Art in the Pearl
It's going to be a gorgeous weekend here in Portland, so slap on some sunscreen, grab your sunglasses and head down to Art in the Pearl. I'm in Booth #52. While you're in the neighborhood you can also catch artist demonstrations, hear music, eat food, make art yourself. And be sure to stop by the Museum of Contemporary Craft - the Gallery has my work featured all month.
Lastly, keep an eye out for this year's Art in the Pearl t-shirts. One of my brooches is the image you see exploding on the front.

Page 143!
Lark Books just published "500 Felt Objects" showcasing felt designs from all over the world! You can find a little piece of Oregon on page 143 with my Home Cuff Bracelet.
And in case you don't get my newsletter (head over to my website to sign up for it) - a hearty thanks to the Bellevue Arts Museum Artsfair, Tiffany & Co., and everyone who is part of the Carol Duke Award of Excellence. It was a wonderful honor to receive the award on top of an amazing weekend at the show.
On the road to Bellevue!
